Cooper is officially a model!!!

8.15.2008

Cooper has big news for everyone... She got accepted as a 2T model for the Baby Gassy Gooma clothing line! We had her first shoot this past week and she did a great job and let me and Amber get some great shots of her and the clothes! We sent the company somewhere around 200 pictures!!! Cooper may have just started her career!!! God bless everyone and have a great weekend.

Cooper Grace turns 2...

8.12.2008

Can you believe my little baby girl turned 2 this
weekend!!!  We  have had a whirlwind of the last 3 years from moving
to buying our first home to finding out we were going to blessed with Cooper to
all the laughs and tears and screams and good times that goes along with a 2
year old!  Michele hooked Cooper up with her awesome "Dora the
Explorer" themed birthday cake.

The "2 cool for school" teenage crew!

Kenny "Big-Daddy" and Ms. Cindy provided the culinary for the day... also Ms. Cindy and Michele took most of the photos for me during the party... so thanks for that!

Nate may turn into an abercrombie model...

i think daddy lyle made her go down the slip and slide...

momma left baby colton in the hands of the big 2 year old for a very short
moment... Cooper loved it...  I hope she got her fix of being a big sister
though.

Nate and Natalie's 3rd Birthday!

7.31.2008

Nate and Natalie had their third birthday bash this weekend! They had a pool party at my dad's house. They are both so funny... Nate was so cool in his shades... the food was awesome thanks to two great chefs! the cake was awesome thanks to Michele... the pictures are great thanks to Amber... she took about 90% probably... and on another note... I cant praise this little rebel xti enough... it is such a super camera. anytime anyone asks what small camera they need.... I without hesitation recommend it. it wasnt until about 8:30ish where the iso had to be bumped up and the grain started becoming noticeable... my 5d would have excelled then... but until then I would much rather use the xti around all the water! one last note... what does everyone think of the new logo...

A few more from Gulf Shores....

7.16.2008

A few more from our Gulf Shores trip... most of the photos courtesy of Marshianna Photography... commonly known as my little sister, Martha, using my camera. And one last note... I opted to leave my "big" camera in the bag away from all the sand... I only got out my little rebel. I was pleasantly surprised how it performed. I can only start telling a major difference either at higher iso's or if it is zoomed into 100% crop. Other than that... it worked great!

Clay & Chasity's Wedding...

6.01.2008

Well we are about half way through our 7 Saturday marathon of weddings! We have been so blessed to work with such amazing couples so far this year! This just makes our job so enjoyable. This saturday was no different... even a little special twist on this one because Clay is a cousin of mine. It is always fun to see fimiliar faces... especially family at weddings and receptions. Their wedding was at First United Methodist in Monroe, LA and it was beautiful. The reception was at a totally awesome place that I hope to visit again possibly for a bridal session in downtown Monroe called Austin's on the River. We got some killer images in and around Austins! Thanks for including us in your big day guys and God bless!

Future Baby Newton...

5.29.2008

This afternoon I had the pleasure and honor of shooting Cade Newton's first photo session... I guess it was mostly of mommy and daddy... but he was definitely the main attraction. We went out to a new perspective on an old location and rocked it out. Since the session was so awesome... I decided to go with a little flare on some of the images. Contrary to popular belief I spend very little time on images in photoshop. Most of the images from tonight... as Jeff was watching he would say... "are you not even gonna open that one in photoshop!" but I have found this new love for textures... So I added it in on a few. Although it's not for everyone... I like em... and I think most everyone likes it every now and then.
Congratulation Jeff and Sara... ya'll will be great parents! God bless...

Birthdays...

5.26.2008

This past weekend was Amber and Jason's birthday... We met up over at Amber parent's house to throw a little party for them. The kids had a blast playing in the pool and on the slip and slide. Nate and Kade were full force wrestling in the pool! Then they all absolutely loved the slip n slide. It was a lot of fun. I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day. Check back tomorrow for the post from this weekend's wedding! It was a blast and we got some killer shots! God bless!

Alaina and Cooper...

5.12.2008

This afternoon we went out with some of our great friends... Mis, James, and Alaina. And I guess lyle #2 was with us also... :) We got some great shots of their family and of Alaina... and we even snuck in a few of Cooper and then some of Cooper and Alaina playing. God blessed us with an absolutely amazing backdrop! Before we left... Cooper was playing in the yard with Abby and her new favorite pet... "Dora". I do not like cats... but she started saying, "I wonna kiddy kat daddy! I wonna name er Dowa!" It melted my heart and it is safe to say I am officially wrapped around her finger. I never dreamed I would have a cat! Congrats lyle's on baby #2! Hurry up and name that pretty little girl! God bless!

Mid April Catch Up...

4.23.2008

So i have been being a bad blogger... I think sub consciously I have been slacking, "hibernating" on purpose to prepare for the prime of wedding season. It is here. Next week we start a 8 week marathon so the blog will be hopping for the next couple months for sure. I have a variety of images here to recap over the last week or so. First off... I got a new "tool" last week. I have been coveting over this particular lens for a while and finally bit the big bullet and bought it. It is somewhat magical I think... Amber makes fun of me when I talk about my lenses as family members. She must have liked its appearance as well... she snuck outside and snapped a few shots of me and Cooper mowing the lawn. This is our afternoon hobby... she loves it and would sit in my lap for hours. More about the lens... isnt that background just mystical! Then the next few are from Dane's 16th birthday. Although there are zero images of Dane... we did snap a few of Cooper riding her Aunt Melinda's horse and Kade's John Deere Gator. She cannot steer... hence Amber's white legs chasing her down! Ill be in trouble for that comment! Then I got another new "tool" in today. I got a high tech contraption to clean the sensor's of my cameras. In the past I have been spooked by this... the sensor makes up the majority of the cost of the camera... so in the past I have always sent my cameras in to Canon for cleaning. So since I had my gear out... I snapped a few of Cooper in her pj's just to make sure my camera stil worked after I serviced it! It appears to work great! Then next we ran in the Go 5k! for Autism Research. And i mean "WE" ran... Amber and I pushed Cooper in her stroller. We didnt break any speed barriers but we did finish and Cooper actually placed 3rd out of 3 in the 0-14 girls division! She got her first medal! She even had her picture in the newspaper this week. And last but certainly not least... I wanted to share a few shots of Tasha Green... we shot these bridals for her a few weeks ago and her and Adam recently married. I think bridals at the lake may turn into a popular location this year! they turned out so good. Thats all my rambling for now... God bless!

Martha's Big One Three

4.15.2008

My lil sis turned 13 last week. We had a big bash for her over in Warren. She is crazy as always... ate her piece of cake in one bite! What a nerd. But she cleaned up and we snapped a few shots in some tasty window light... Happy Belated Birthday Blog Sis!

Catching up...

3.30.2008

So i have been being a bad blogger lately... there has been a ton going on and I will try to recap...

This is definitely a random and catch up post.  Spring break was 2 weeks
ago so I had a busy week running around trying to act like I was on vacation.
2 weekends ago us and the fam went up to Memphis to go to the Discover musuem
and to the Memphis Zoo.  Cooper loved both venues and I am sure we will
make this an annual trip.  Cody brought along his camera and got some
incriminating pictures of a certain someone doing his birthday dance at Joe's
Crab Shack that night...

This little guy was a model... he sat up and posed for us!

Kade and Cooper shared popcorn pretty well...

Hey Debbie... do you want to move... you and Kyle have a tree coming out of your
head!

Cooper was very sharing with her popcorn!

Then she tuckered out...

I have always wanted eagle pictures so I guess this will do me for a while... I
still want some wild pictures.. possibly snatching some fish out of the water!

Then I headed over to Austin to go to a One Light Workshop... for those of you
who know I basically flew to Austin to get admitted to the ER... lose 12
pounds... puke my guts out and then fly home.  It was a horrible trip!
The coolest thing about flying is that during this picture it was storming below
the clouds... but it was beautiful above the clouds!

Then when I got home... I was sick and lethargic... so Cooper and Amber decided
to paint my toenails... I didnt even have the energy to stop them!

Cooper thought it was hilarious and to this day if you mention toenails... all
she can say is "Daddy!"

Here are a few more of the Easter shots we took at the field...

This is Cooper's... "im smiling and crying together" faces...

Then this past weekend I went with the
Blackwater crew to Lake
Chicot...  yes these idiots were actually in the lake...  I was
freezing just being in the boat.

That night camping we had a blast...

then a few more people showed up...

then a few more for an all out party!

We had a blast... acted stupid and had too much fun!

Today at church was so much fun... there were a ton of people and we got to
roast/celebrate with Rob Leonard... today was his 25th anniversary with
Pauline Baptist Church.

We had a special luncheon for Rob and he was presented with a very nice plaque
and a few other surprises!

God Bless!

Sneak peak of the Pauline Baptist Easter Pics

3.21.2008

This afternoon the Cooper and the twins tested my slowly progressing health and helped me get set up for the big easter shoot we are having at church on Sunday. Here is a sneak peak of what the shots will look like. A special thanks to those who donated trees and flowers and carriages and time and advice and... thanks for everyones help!

We will be off to a fabulous wedding tomorrow! Tune in tomorrow night for a sneak peak of those! See everyone on Sunday!

Snow 2008

3.09.2008

This is a huge personal post! I have been catching some serious flack from a lot of folks for slacking on the Cooper posts... so this one is for you all! These shots range from the past couple weeks... but most are from the snow!
This shot is for Karl... the first bird of spring; name that bird!....

Another early sign of spring...

This is a shot I just sat my camera down on the ground during one of my advanced photo classes last week to demonstrate how much light is actually present that is not seen by the naked eye. It is quite amazing... and the picture absolutely does not do justice to how dark the neighborhood actually was that night. This shot was around 30 seconds long.

A shot of Cooper's favorite thing to do during bath time!

Amber emailed me this photo while I was slaving away at work...

When I got home this is what I saw...

Me and Cooper getting geared up to go outside and play in the white stuff!

I'm pretty sure she is the cutest kid ever!

That night we had to have a bunking party over at Michele and David's... our electricity was out all night! this is Cooper's, "I didn't sleep in my own bed and now dad has this stinkin camera in my face again" face!

A self group portrait with the 28mm lens!

Later in the day with Cousin Natalie...

and of course Nate...

probably the worst group shot ever!!! Total chaos!

Frosty!

"im still alive"

2.24.2008

I have been a bad blogger lately! I am still alive and do still own all my camera equipment and do still run a successful photography business! I have had all the above asked over the last week or so. Bottom line is this is the slowest time of the wedding seasons and I frankly have been laying low and getting some honey do lists accomplished! This weekend Amber and I with the help from our most amazing friends... Landon, Joey, Syndal, Laci, and Grant painted our living room, kitchen, KITCHEN CABINETS, and the hallway. It was a marathon... we started at around 7 Friday night and went back and forth 3 times to walmart trying to get the right color... then finally the third time was a charm around 9:30. Amber and I finished up the living room around 2:00 am and got a few hours sleep then started on the kitchen. At around 6:30 pm Saturday our house and been transformed. It was like trading spaces style... overnight magic! This weekend we have an engagement session for some friends of ours and then we are hosting a middle school Discipleship now group at our home. We will have about 6-8 guests staying with us over the weekend!!! Pray for us!

A sorta before shot... look at all that yellow! what were we thinking!

And after...

we still have to put everything back... like curtains...

and my refurbished vent hood... thats a story all in itself... it looks brand new though huh! i watch way too much HGTV.

God Bless!

Valentines Day 08

2.14.2008

This afternoon Amber and I treated ourselves to a rare night out without Cooper. We have always taken Cooper lots of places with us... and for the most part Cooper is great when we go out. But tonight we went out just the two of us for a dinner. It was nice... The Village Steakhouse in Star City was amazing... we snapped a quick self portrait before we left! It is unreal that this is our 8th Valentines day together! Man we are getting old!
Happy Vday and God Bless!

Daddy and Cooper

1.29.2008

This weekend Cooper and I were hanging out at the house and decided it was bath time. Cooper like most kids her age loves her bath time. Its an easy way for daddy to baby sit! So after the bath I am always real good at blow drying her hair. It always makes me feel a bit sad because she seems so big having her hair blow dryed! While we were blow drying it... there is a big string of bows that hang on the wall of the bathroom. She would randomly pick a bow and I would stick it in her hair. She loved it and I think at one point we had about 7 or 8 bows in her hair. Amber came home and caught us right at the end and we snagged a few shots.

Then the other night Mis and James came by and we showed Alaina one of Cooper's favorite games! The ride on Abby's blanket!

mt photo school update and the montgomery's

1.17.2008

Tonight Amber and I went over to our great friend's house and shot some photos of their family with the new addition. We tried taking a pizza break to cheer up Mr. Mason but he was just zonked out after the first round of photos... the pizza was still quite tasty however. I think we snuck in a few winners during the first round anyways...
I have been getting more and more requests for photo classes so I am going to try to start that up here in the next few weeks. The classes are probably going to be a bit smaller in a more cozy and intimate setting which will allow for more individual question and answer time etc... I will announce the details later but if you are interested shoot me an email:
and I will send you a personal email back as soon as the details are finalized and you will have first dibs on the seats!
God bless!

!! Back to Blogging !!

1.09.2008

I have been a bad blogger lately... I will make it up with a
huge 20 day recap! i have quite a few things to share right now and a couple surprises coming in the next few days hopefully! A few days before Christmas Amber, Fred, Joy, and I
took the kiddos to the park for some good fun. They all looked so fun and cuddly
in their hats!

Something about this I just love!

Christmas at Grandma Cooper's... the many faces of Nate!

smile

stick your tongue out

imitate what i was doing :)

surprised!

ticked off...

Christmas Eve morning at Pops and JoJo's... the cars were a hit!

Again Nate showed out at my Dad's house...

excuse me sir... but you are going to have to pay this ticket!

Christmas eve night... we partied in Bucksnort with my family from Fordyce at my Mama and Papa's new pad! Martha and I got a little crazy after a wild game of Dirty Santa!

Christmas morning Cooper woke up at somewhere around 3 am... like she knew the
living room was full of semi-new toys! she played for about 10 minutes
then we all went back to bed!

even Abby opened her stocking at 3am...

some serious action and comedy going on back at the twin's crib on Christmas
morning...

fast forward to new years eve... all the girls trying to stay warm!

happy 2008!

im feeling the pressure... Alaina came by the other night to show us her new
"big sister" shirt... combine that with Jeff and Sara adding to the Newton
family... I have to admit I am feeling a bit of pressure to keep up!
Congratulations guys... a few names to add to the future softball roster!

and my late Christmas present... i actually stepped over to the darkness... this
mac is about the size of one of the original disc walkman and is absolutely
silent when operating... combine that with an hdmi connection to my 42"
plasma... and I am in a media frenzy! I can't wait for the first clients
to come over and get "wowwed" by the full "HD" quality of this little mini.

and the super cool bluetooth keyboard and "tail-less" mouse on my couch.

and last and most important... my little angel is running around 103 fever for
the second day and feels horrible. it is so sad being in a completely
helpless state as a parent. not much you can do. pray for Amber
too.. she is a super mom and has babied cooper for about 22 out of the 24 past
hours probably. Pray Cooper gets better quick... we have some pink
4-wheelers to ride outside!

THE END... to possibly my biggest personal post ever! God Bless!
